What's your favorite thing about Columbia?

My favorite thing about Columbia is that there are people who go to school here from all over the country and world. I’ve met so many people from different states and countries and it’s fun to learn about the differences.

What are your hobbies or things you like to do?

My hobbies include going to the gym, cooking, hanging out with my friends, and going to Soda City. These activities help me relax after classes.

What has surprised you the most about [Nursing] school?

What surprised me the most about nursing school is how close everyone is. USC is huge, but nursing students are often in the same classes at the same time, so I see the same people almost every day. I like it because it gives me a sense of community at such a big school.

What is an accomplishment in [college] that you are very proud of?

One accomplishment I am proud of in college is that I have always been on the President’s List or Dean’s List. I am proud of this because of the work I put in each semester, and it is showing.

Why did you choose USC?

I chose USC because I wanted to come to a big school with a lot of spirit as my high school and our sports teams were big. I also wanted a change of scenery as I am from New York and wanted to go somewhere farther.

What advice would you give incoming students?

I would tell other students to be confident in themselves and to not let other people’s opinions get in their way. This applies to both personal life and academic life. Sometimes people will tell you not to take a certain class because of the professor, but you might not end up feeling the same way. Go with your gut.
