Four USC School of Music alumnae have been hired to serve as the next generation of development professionals at Carolina. After completing the Division of Development’s inaugural Develop Carolina training program, each has been appointed as an Assistant Director of Development in colleges and units around campus.
They are:
- Meredith Howell, MM ’23 – College of Arts and Sciences
- Brittany Martin, MM ’23 – School of Music
- Lisa Ortuno, BA ’23 – Donor Relations
- Olivia Ward, BM ’22 – University Libraries
We are ecstatic that Brittany will be a part of our team, as she’ll be a natural working with our alumni and donors.
– Audra Vaz, School of Music Assistant Dean for Advancement.
Martin received her Master of Music in Voice Performance with an emphasis in Community Engagement in Spring 2023. During her time as a Gamecock, Martin was a graduate assistant for School of Music programs, Southern Exposure New Music Series and Spark Music Leadership.
"I am thrilled to return to the USC School of Music in the role of Assistant Director of Development. The School of Music is doing such inspiring work to support its students and engage the Columbia community and beyond," says Martin. "Throughout my time in the Develop Carolina cohort, I learned about the value of matching the passions of our donors with the needs of USC and the impact of generosity in the life of our university. I couldn't be more honored to jump into this role for the School of Music."
