South Carolina Saxophone Day

Saxophone players of all ages and abilities are invited to the biennial South Carolina Saxophone day at UofSC, led by saxophone professor Clifford Leaman jazz/saxophone professor Lauren Meccia. You can experience a full day of clinics, reed classes, recitals and master classes for saxophone at the fall event.

Activities and classes for beginning, intermediate and advanced reed players ensure a day full of great learning, listening and playing experiences.

School of Music faculty members host the event, which culminates with a saxophone ensemble performance by all participants.

The day's activities include:

  • A recital by professor Leaman and professor Meccia
  • Master classes for saxophonists of all levels
  • Region and Allstate Etude Clinics for all levels
  • Saxophone ensemble concert for all participants
  • Musical Innovations will bring instruments and accessories for sale
  • Matt Hess of Saxocentric will be available for instrument adjustments, minor repairs and major repair consultation

Cost

$40 registration covers all activities and lunch. Walk-up registration is $45. Parents may attend for free.
Registration check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and events start at 9:30 a.m.
