An Evening to Remember

This past Thursday, April 14, the Friends of the School of Music held the annual Musical Feast to raise funds for scholarships. It was an amazing night full of delicious food, good friends and great music!

The entire Koger Center for the Arts served as the showplace for our students’ talent. Positioned in varied spaces throughout the Koger Center, from the main stage to the lobby, our accomplished students brought music to patrons who enjoyed food and drink as varied as the locations and the performances. Performances featured the Percussion Ensemble, Palmetto Pans, The Collective, Scholar Soloists, Opera at USC, Jazz Ensemble, Carolina Alive, UofSC Graduate String Quartet and UofSC New Sounds Quartet. The evening featured Brandon Taylor, co-anchor of News19 This Morning at WLTX in Columbia, as the master of ceremonies.

Proceeds from the evening support scholarships for students of the School of Music. This year almost $30,000 was raised! These scholarships make a direct impact on our students’ academic lives and help them achieve their dreams of making a difference in the world through music. For those of you who attended or supported the Musical Feast, thank you for your donation and for keeping the music playing in our students' lives! If you were unable to attend, we hope you will join us next year for the 2023 Musical Feast!
