World-class instruction and outstanding concerts come to USC

The Parker Quartet returns for Fall Residency in November

The University of South Carolina School of Music welcomes back the Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet for their fall chamber music residency. Begun in 2013, the Quartet-in-Residency Program provides world-class instruction to our students and outstanding concerts for our community of music enthusiasts.

Following a 2017 summer season that had the ensemble crossing North America for appearances at music festivals including the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine, the Strings Music Festival in Colorado, and the Garth Newell Music Center in Virginia, the Parker Quartet begins its fifth year in-residence at USC.

The Quartet's 2017-2018 season continues its signature busy schedule with performances and residencies scheduled around the United States, including for Harvard University, the Schubert Club, Skidmore College, St. John's College, University of South Carolina, Kansas City's Friends of Chamber Music, and an appearance on the Jukebox series at the Kennedy Center.

In addition to two public concerts and master classes that are open to the public, the Parker Quartet will be doing outreach at the Charleston School for the Arts, giving master classes for the Charleston International Music School, and working with students of the Suzuki Strings program at USC.
