USC-Clemson halftime show named among best of the year

SC Strong named one of the best halftime shows of 2015 by NCAA

The National Collegiate Athletic Association has released a list of some of the best halftime shows of the 2015 season. The NCAA knows that bands are a vital part of the college football experience, and for big showcases at halftime, the shows can get spectacular.

Clemson and the University of South Carolina’s famous rivalry was put aside for the “SC Strong” halftime show. The bands put aside their long history of rivalry in the wake of the tragic events the state endured in 2015 – the Mother Emanuel Church massacre in Charleston in June and the destructive flooding the state endured in October.

The bands came together for an awesome show of unity during the Palmetto Bowl’s halftime show on November 28 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

Only five shows made the NCAA list, including a Star Wars medley from Southern California, members of the New York Philharmonic joining Michigan’s band and Southern University’s Human Jukebox.
