The latest edition of Strings magazine has reviewed “Carolina Cellobration” a CD of new music for cello featuring School of Music professors Robert Jesselson, cello, and Charles Fugo, piano. The CD was produced to celebrate 30 years of the Jesselson/Fugo Duo.
“Jesselson…wrings rich tonal colors from his instrument, exploring the sonic boundaries as well as the compositional and improvisational possibilities. This recording bristles with creativity and bold musical vision.”
The CD includes new works by University of South Carolina School of Music faculty, composers Reginald Bain, Samuel Douglas, Dick Goodwin, Tayloe Harding, Bert Ligon and John Fitz Rogers in addition to Ben Boone, Ayala Asherov-Kalus and Meira Warshauer.
The CD is available through the Cellos2Go.
