2013 Cornelia Freeman Concert Series announced

Spend your Sunday afternoons with the USC School of Music's renowned faculty performing a diverse repertoire. This popular fall chamber music series has been raising scholarship money for worthy music students for more than 20 years. All concerts are held in the USC School of Music Recital Hall (821 Assembly St., Columbia, SC 29201) Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m.

The 2013 series will offer something for everyone and is the most diverse programming yet. From Mozart piano sonatas to a faculty jazz quartet and recent compositions by the newest member of the USC composition faculty and winner of the 2011 Rome Prize, Jesse Jones. Thirty-four USC School of Music faculty join together for five concerts, including solo performances and chamber music. The closing concert of the series on October 6 is presented as part of the Operatunity Foundation Celebration of Women Artists and features contemporary works written by Jennifer Higdon, Libby Larsen, Sonia Jacobsen and Rebecca Clarke.

Single concerts: $12 adults; $10 seniors citizens, USC faculty and staff; $5 students.
Series tickets: $50 adults; $40 seniors citizens, USC faculty and staff. Reserved seating: Reserved seating is an additional $100 per series.
