Background

Andrea Williams is delighted to rejoin the University of South Carolina Career Center as the Assistant Director for the College of Engineering and Computing Career Center, a satellite office of the main UofSC Career Center.   
Before joining the Career Center, Andrea served as the Assistant Director for Transfer and Population Specific Support and the Director for Gamecock Gateway with the Student Success Center.  Prior to joining the Student Success Center, Andrea renewed her higher education career in 2012 when she accepted a position as a Program Manager which transitioned into a Career Development Coach with the University of South Carolina Career Center.  Her other higher education experience included advising undecided students and serving as the Army ROTC Enrollment Manager and Green to Gold Recruiter at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. She also has experience in University Housing at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, first as a Graduate Hall Director and then as a Housing Area Coordinator.   
Andrea has a Master of Education in Student Personnel Services from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and a Master of Operational Art and Science from the Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama. She is certified in MBTI and is a graduate of the National Association of Colleges and Employers Career Coaching Intensive Workshop. She is also Green Zone and Safe Zoned trained. 
Prior to re-joining the University of South Carolina, Andrea was member of the United States Army, retiring in October 2010 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. As a former Quartermaster Officer and a member of the Army Acquisition Corps, Andrea received her Level 3 Certification in Program Management and a Level 2 certification in Systems Engineering from the Defense Acquisition University; she is also a graduate of the Systems Automation Course in Fort Gordon, GA.  As a Gamecock Alumnus, Andrea was excited to re-establish her career in Higher Education and is proof that Second Act Careers are indeed possible.
