Biomedical Engineering
Biomedical engineering was established at USC as an interdisciplinary academic unit in 2006, offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. It’s impact on education and research steadily increased and in 2024, it became a tenure-granting department. Current biomedical engineering research spans a variety of fields, such as tissue engineering, biomaterials and drug delivery, biomechanics, drug development, bioinstrumentation and bioimaging.
