Council of Academic Diversity Officers Each college or school has a diversity officer who reports to the dean. Diversity
officers develop and implement unit-level strategic plans for diversity and inclusion
focusing on composition, achievement, engagement and inclusion as the attributes of
their inclusion efforts.
Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee Representing a cross-section of the student, faculty and staff population, the diversity
committee is led by a faculty chair, and reports directly to the Office of the President.

Center for Teaching Excellence The Center for Teaching Excellence inspires excellence and innovation in teaching.

Teaching Towards Inclusive Excellence Certificate The Teaching Towards Inclusive Excellence (TTIE) certificate of completion is an initiative
of The Center for Teaching Excellence and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. The
TTIE program is designed to provide an opportunity for faculty, instructors and teaching
graduate students to strengthen their strategic diversity leadership capacities both
within and outside their classroom and to support USC’s commitment to inclusive excellence.
National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity In an effort to support faculty in their research productivity, the College of Arts
and Sciences offers fellowships for CAS faculty to participate in the National Center
for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) Faculty Success Program.

Black Faculty Caucus: Established in April of 2014, the Black Faculty Caucus (BFC) of the University of
South Carolina exists to promote a strong sense of community, professional welfare,
development and advocacy for Black faculty and the issues that concern and affect

Jewish Faculty and Staff Council Jewish Faculty and Staff Council advocates for the professional needs of Jewish faculty
and staff.
Latino and Hispanic Faculty Caucus: The Latino/a and Hispanic Faculty Caucus (LHFC) of the University of South Carolina
(USC) is an advocacy and leadership organization. It was established April 2016 to
address critical issues in higher education that focus on the recruitment, retention,
promotion, and advancement of Latino/a & Hispanic faculty at the University of South
Carolina.

Grace Jordan McFadden Professors Program Open to prospective and current doctoral and MFA students, this program prepares underrepresented
minority students to become professors. Scholars are provided $24,000 in additional
funding over 4 years and receive training specifically designed to help them diversify
the professoriate.
