Students participate in Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week events designed to raise awareness and serve the community.

Information Coming Soon - See below for previous events!

At this interactive event, the place where you sit, and the meal that you eat, are determined by the luck of the draw — just as in real life some of us are born into relative prosperity and others into poverty.

Five slow cookers will be in the lobby of the LSC for individuals to stop in and taste, then submit a score on the best recipe. Recipe cards are available and indicate items that can be found at the Gamecock Pantry.

Food Insecurity Screening Trainings built to increase awareness of food insecurity among college students, boost confidence in how to identify and respond to student food insecurity, and identify both on and off campus resources available to students for food insecurity relief.

The Homestretch follows three homeless teens as they fight to stay in school, graduate, and create a new life. Each of these smart, ambitious youths — Roque, Kasey, and Anthony — will surprise, inspire, and challenge audiences to rethink stereotypes of homelessness as they work to complete their educations while facing the trauma of being alone and abandoned at an early age. While told through a personal perspective, their stories connect with larger issues of poverty, race, juvenile justice, immigration, foster care, and LGBTQ rights. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
