For the third consecutive year, the Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center’s Business Plan Competition team has earned a spot among the top three teams in the nation. Jacob Jordan King, Faye Hussain and CharLeigh Steverson, all graduates of the Class of 2024, will compete for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Pruitt-Schutte Student Business Plan Competition in October at the NCPA National Conference. 

“We wanted to make it grounded in reality while still pushing the envelope of innovation and community pharmacy.” 

The group took comments from last year’s competition to improve their business plan further and developed “Magnolia Drug Company.” Their goal was to push the envelope even more. 

“We tried to improve on some of the gaps from our previous plan and expand on some of the things that we learned during our fourth-year rotations,” King says. “We wanted to make it grounded in reality while still pushing the envelope of innovation and community pharmacy.” 

Dean Stephen J. Cutler congratulated King, Hussain and Steverson on their outstanding accomplishment as well as KPIC Executive Director Patti Fabel. 

“Having placed in the top 3 schools/colleges of pharmacy in the USA is a testament to the dedication and head work by our students and KPIC staff and faculty,” he says.
