Give 4 Garnet: A Day of Giving, the university’s annual day of giving campaign, is coming up May 18. Last year’s initiative raised more than $1.7 million from more than 4,300 gifts for the University of South Carolina, and thanks to the generosity of donors, friends, faculty, staff and students, the College of Pharmacy received $80,727 through 135 individual gifts to support the college.
College of Pharmacy Senior Director of Development Terry Dixon expressed gratitude for last year’s incredible outpouring of support from pharmacy alumni and the college’s extended pharmacy family.
“Our donors came through for the college in a very big way by supporting our Carolina Fund, scholarships, and professional development opportunities for our students. The College of Pharmacy Carolina Fund provides funding to areas of greatest need and will be just one of the fund options this year,” Dixon says.
With the focus that ‘every little piece makes a big impact,’ this year’s campaign emphasizes that it is not the amount of funds raised, but rather that everyone has an opportunity to support the college, no matter the size of the gift.
The College will again look to alumni, faculty and students to serve as social media ambassadors throughout the day on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to help promote the campaign.
This year’s Give 4 Garnet will feature several challenges that will earn additional funding for the College of pharmacy, including an Early Bird challenge, a Social Media All-Star challenge, the Power Hour, and a Fill-the Map challenge.
If you are ready to make an impact now, make your gift to Give 4 Garnet early.
