Give 4 Garnet: A Day of Giving held April 21, raised more than $1.7 million from more than 4,300 gifts for the University of South Carolina. The College of Pharmacy realized an outstanding outcome as well thanks to the generosity of donors, friends, faculty, staff, and students who contributed $80,727 through 135 individual gifts to support the college. The College of Pharmacy placed fifth overall in total dollars raised.
We raised $45K for our College of Pharmacy Carolina Fund which provides support to areas of greatest need, another $25K for an endowed scholarship and $10K for professional development opportunities for students.

College of Pharmacy Senior Director of Development Terry J. Dixon expressed gratefulness for the incredible outpouring of support from pharmacy alumni and the college’s extended pharmacy family.
“We raised $45K for our College of Pharmacy Carolina Fund which provides support to areas of greatest need, another $25K for an endowed scholarship and $10K for professional development opportunities for pharmacy students,” Dixon says. “In addition to extraordinary support from our pharmacy alumni, we had wonderful participation from our faculty, staff, students and the families of students.”
Dixon also shared her gratitude for the numerous alumni and students who served as social media ambassadors to share the college’s messaging throughout the day on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
“We are so grateful to everyone who participated and encouraged others to do the same,” she says. “I hope everyone is as proud as we are of what were able to accomplish together.”
