Kate Smith graduated from the South Carolina Honors College in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in media arts and a minor in advertising. A part of the School of Visual Art and Design's Accelerated Master's Program, she graduated from USC again in 2023 with a Master of Arts in media arts. Kate was an Orientation Leader, Peer Leader and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University. Her research projects include a novella examining revictimization through the eyes of Medusa and a television script studying the localization and adaptation of South Korean media for American audiences. 

Kate continues to delve into her artistic interests by filming and editing weekly videos for her YouTube channel. With an excellent excuse to try new hobbies, she loves finding cozy places in Columbia to read, picking up (and quickly putting down) new sports and playing with her tailless cat, Bao.
