For most employees of the Big Four professional services firms, starting one new practice by the time
they’re 30 would be accomplishment enough. But KPMG’s Maura Hodge started two – and made partner at the age of 34. Hodge helped launch the firm’s sustainability services practice, meant to advise companies on their reporting of corporate responsibility initiatives, and its venture capital practice in Cambridge. She’s also active in mentoring women in the workplace: Over half of the management team in Hodge’s practice are women.

Three adjectives colleagues use that best describe you? Approachable. Efficient. Positive/upbeat
attitudes.

Advice you would give your younger self? Don’t be afraid to stand out and be different. Ask for help before you realize you need it. Align your work activities with your passions – you might not love what you do every moment of every day, but if your larger understanding of your work does not align with your values, then it’s time to make a change.

Your most unusual talent? Don’t think I have one!

What is your favorite book? "What is the What," by Dave Eggers

What are your hobbies? Cooking, knitting/crocheting, playing with my kids, traveling

Do you have a motto? There is inherent value in each person on this earth so we must treat each individual with dignity and respect.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
