Student government is an active body that works for university students through numerous initiatives and programs such as the Carolina Closet which provides business and professional clothes for students and Swipe Out Hunger where students can donate unused meal swipes. The student government even assists in providing a shuttle to the Columbia Airport during Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, and Spring Break.

Airport Shuttle

Student Government partners with the University of South Carolina Parking and Transportation services to provide a shuttle from campus to the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. The shuttle will operate during fall break, Thanksgiving break and spring break. Reservations are required. Reservations will close the Friday before departure and return dates. The bus will only wait five minutes before departing.

Carolina Closet

The Carolina Closet provides business professional clothes for the University of South Carolina students. With a valid CarolinaCard, students can take five items of their choosing and exchange those items throughout the semester. Donations are accepted during closet or student government hours. 

Hours of Operations: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:30-6pm. or by appointment

SG X YOU  provides an opportunity for students to come up with ideas that create change on campus. Students submit a 2-4-minute video pitching an idea and explaining its the event/initiative/service project. The winner will receive $750 to partner with Student Government and bring their idea to fruition.

Stigma Free USC

The purpose of Stigma Free USC is to raise awareness of mental health concerns and encourage students to take care of themselves. 

The week's events will cover a variety of topics both serious and fun including cooking classes, a mindulness walk, a campus resource scavenger hunt and more.

Swipe Out Hunger

Student Government, in partnership with Aramark, launched a pilot program, Swipe Out Hunger, for the spring 2019 semester. This program was created for students dealing with food insecurity: the lack of reliable access to sufficient quantities of affordable, nutritious food.
