Initiatives

Student Government is an active body that works for university students through numerous initiatives and programs such as Swipe Out Hunger, where students can donate unused meal swipes, and portable chargers in the student section of the Williams Brice Stadium. Student Government even assists in providing a shuttle to the Columbia Airport during Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, and Spring Break.

Phone Chargers in Willy B

Student Government and Athletics have partnered to bring portable chargers to the stadium's student section. The Charger GoGo machine allows students to scan a QR code, type in their phone number, and check out a charger to use during the game that has all of the phone cords for different devices. Chargers can then be returned to the machine in the student section, but if you forget, you can turn it in to the charging machine outside of Russell House. The charging machines are located adjacent to concessions underneath the Cockpit and across from the ATM outside of Russell House. Never walk home or leave a game with a dead cellphone again!

Student Government, in partnership with Aramark, launched a pilot program, Swipe Out Hunger, for the spring 2019 semester. This program was created for students dealing with food insecurity: the lack of reliable access to sufficient quantities of affordable, nutritious food.
