Alternative Break Learning Partner Application

Learning Partner Responsibilities

Prior to the trip:

  • Receive 15 passenger van certification (if not already certified)
  • Meet and communicate regularly with the student trip leader to discuss the planning process, trip updates, and to offer assistance and guidance as needed
  • Complete any waivers/emergency contact information necessary for your trip
  • Maintain regular communication with the LSC staff to receive and provide any updates
  • Attend Learning Partner meeting and training (will be scheduled prior to trip)

During the trip:

  • Participate in all service projects, reflection activities, and provide insight and guidance to contribute to students learning
  • Serve as a resource for the student trip leader and student participants
  • Take appropriate action in case of an emergency situation
  • Manage money for food and gas and maintain all receipts (money will be given prior to trip)
  • Serve as the driver for the 15 passenger van

After the trip:

  • Turn in all receipts and extra cash (money reconciliation) to LSC staff
  • Complete Learning Partner assessment survey
  • Participate in post-trip service and meeting with student trip leader and participants
