Bird Watching

Course Description

Welcome to Bird Watching at USC! Students will learn birding basics such as how to use binoculars and how to find and identify common birds.  Loaner binoculars will be provided. 

Important Information

  • This course will consist of two sessions providing an introduction to birding. Each session will include guided birding around campus as well as classroom instruction

Sept. 14, 2026 - 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Sept. 21, 2026 - 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 

Note: To take advantage of the available daylight, the class will start outside on the historic Horseshoe and then move into a classroom.

Scott Johnson

Scott is an avid bird watcher, nature lover, and wildlife photographer. He finds any excuse to be outside in nature, and he’s always eager to learn and expand his knowledge of the natural world. Actively working to get more people excited about nature and wildlife, his goal is to make sure everyone feels welcome and included.
