The South Carolina Research Foundation (SCRF) is an element in the University's strategy to grow its research by providing flexibility for securing external funding. For example, UofSC researchers seeking grants or other sponsored awards from organizations that only can fund institutions with a 501(c)(3) tax status can submit their proposals through the SCRF to ensure eligibility. Awards received through SCRF are managed by SAM in the same way as those granted directly to the University, providing a seamless administrative process for the research community.
