Other Submission Systems

In addition to primary submission systems like NSF Fastlane, NIH Assist, Grants.gov and Proposal Central, there are several others that UofSC principal investigators (PIs) use frequently to search and apply for grant opportunities. PIs should coordinate with their SAM Administrators as they apply for grants using all submission systems, and remember to submit proposals in USCeRA for final “Institutional Review” a minimum of three business days before the proposal submission deadline [pdf].

Submission Systems

NSPIRES is the NASA Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System, a the web-based system through which NASA announces research opportunities and through which users prepare and submit proposals.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) uses Grants Online to advertise research grant opportunities and interact with applicants. PIs apply for NOAA funding using Grants.gov packages. Grants Online is primarily used to accept and track awards, and perform post-award functions.

The American Heart Association (AHA) operates the Grants@Heart grant management system. PIs use Grants@Heart to submit and track applications for AHA grant opportunities and track awards.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Portfolio Analysis and Management System, or PAMS, is a web-based system for managing proposals and reviews submitted to the DOE Office of Science. DOE Office of Science proposals are typically submitted to Grants.gov and then the proposal information is ported over to PAMS for DOE validation.

The Department of Justice maintains their Grant Management System, known as GMS, to help applicants and grantees find funding opportunities (solicitations) managed by the DOJ grant-making components that address their criminal, juvenile, and civil justice needs. Most Department of Justice proposals are submitted by way of Grants.gov.

The U.S. Department of Education's Grant Management System, G5.gov, replaces the former e-Grants, Grant Administration and Payment systems. G5 is available to applicants, grantees, payees as well as internal Education staff. Some Department of Education proposals are submitted in the G5 system and some are submitted by way of Grants.gov. Please read the funding opportunity carefully.
