The Office of Organizational and Professional Development (OPD) posted the Fall 2021 training schedule. This is the first hybrid schedule we've created. Programs are now offered both in-person and online.
We look forward to welcoming participants back into the classroom while also offering the convenience of online learning.

Changes to Certificate Programs
To accommodate the new online format, we've made several tweaks to the delivery of
our content. We've shortened some sessions, modularized others and created new content
that will enhance the quality and accessibility of these programs.
We've created many exercises to mimic the classroom experience so we can still elicit
group and individual participation. But it’s imperative that participants engage in
the experience to ensure effective learning. Participants shouldn’t attempt to perform
their other job duties while attending sessions. It may be helpful to reserve a conference
room and block out time to attend training in a space that is quiet and without interruptions.
New Requirements Effective August 1
When participants are unable to speak with others during activities, it diminishes the learning experience for everyone. Effective August 1, 2021, participants in online classes for the OPD certificate programs (LEAD, Managing High Performing Teams, and Effective Communication) MUST have a working microphone on their computers or use the dial-in feature and be able to verbally participate in the sessions. OPD will require a sound check during introductions at the beginning of the session to verify your ability to participate. If you cannot fully participate at the time of the session, we will respectfully ask that you find an alternate session that you can attend and fully participate in, whether that be an in-person session or a more appropriately timed online session. No exceptions will be made. Thank you in advance for your understanding. This will enhance the learning experience for everyone.
