Student Services Program Coordinator II (Admissions Counselor), Band 5, USC Sumter. The Admissions Counselor represents the University of South Carolina Sumter to traditional prospective students, their parents, high school guidance counselors and administrators. The position also creates programs to recruit nontraditional students. The position is located at the University of South Carolina Sumter and covers an assigned geographic region in the state of South Carolina. Travel within the state of South Carolina will be expected as needed. Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Ability to work evenings & weekends, a valid driver’s license and knowledge of student services in higher education is required. Background experience in admissions, public relations, sales experience or other student personnel area desired. Preference will be given to those who currently live in the existing geographic market and have knowledge of the local secondary schools. Minimum Salary: $45,133.

Assistant Professor of Chemistry, USC Sumter. The University of South Carolina Sumter invites qualified candidates to apply for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Chemistry position with an anticipated starting date of August 16, 2025. An earned doctorate in Chemistry is required by the beginning date of employment, including credentials necessary for departmental approval to teach introductory and upper-level chemistry courses in both traditional and on-line settings as needed. The successful applicant must have at least one academic year of full-time teaching experience at the university levels as instructor of record by the time of appointment. A demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching is required, including general, fundamental, and organic chemistry courses and the associated lab set-ups. The normal teaching load will be twelve contact hours per semester. Applicants must also demonstrate a strong commitment to establishing and maintaining professional activity in scholarship and service, as well as student advising, mentoring and participation on campus committees. Temporary Administrative Assistant. USC Sumter. Bachelor’s degree and 2 years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment, or high school diploma and 6 years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or equivalency. Provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean for Business and Administrative Management. This position reports directly to the Dean of USC Sumter. A willingness to live in Sumter County and a substantial commitment to community service. Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Knowledge of higher education, not-for-profit, and for-profit institutions and businesses. Effective marketing strategies and campaign skills within higher education. Experience in development and/or alumni services, fundraising event planning, developing new programs and partnerships with various organizations, grants and scholarship, and management of budgets preferred.
