Background
Amanda provides visa support for incoming international faculty and staff, as well as visiting professors, research scholars, and short-term scholars and their dependents in the Department of State's Exchange Visitor Program. She issues immigration documents and provides guidance for the J-1 visa and liaises with our immigration attorneys on H-1B and faculty labor certification employment cases. She also oversees the international affilaite appointment process and approvals
Through education abroad programs, Amanda studied history in Ireland, visiting many museums and public history sites. In Ecuador, she studied ecology in the Yasuní National Park of the Amazon and ecology and Darwinian history in the Galapagos. Her master’s project focused on a bioarchaeological dig in Lopburi, Thailand. In Columbia, she enjoys cycling on the greenways and kayaking the rivers.
