Stimuli-responsive materials are crucial for addressing current technological demands. For the first time, we reported that coordinative integration of photoresponsive building blocks within a rigid scaffold of metal-organic frameworks could be used toward mapping of changes in material properties, which could provide a pathway for monitoring material aging or structural deterioration.
