Professor Mythreye Karthikeyan received grants from the National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society to fund her projects. She received a five year total of $1,669,971 from the National Cancer Institute for her project entitled "Inhibin Function in Tumor Angiogenesis." She also received an American Cancer Society Pilot Award (SOAR) of $30,000 for her project entitled "Therapeutic impact of epigenetically regulated GDF2 in ovarian cancer."
