Marine Biology

The Marine Biology labs have diverse interests, ranging from microbes to macrofauna and estuaries to oligotrophic ocean waters. Some of the unifying themes in our research are community ecology (mostly plankton), invertebrate zoology & physiology, population dynamics (plankton and nekton), evolutionary ecology (molecular genetics and adaptation), conservation biology, and the effects of climate change on marine ecosystems. The Baruch Marine Field Laboratory on the North Inlet Estuary is the field location for many research projects, but some members of the group conduct research in oceans and estuaries worldwide. Most of the faculty members in this group have joint appointments with the Marine Science Program in the School of the Earth, Ocean, and Environment.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
