1) The Magellan Journey

No research experience? Interested and motivated to join a faculty mentor's project? THIS is the program for you!

  • First- and second-year Capstone Scholars, in good standing
  • No research experience - all majors eligible
  • Up to $1000 in salary/stipend for first semester

2) The Magellan Apprentice Award 

Already matched with a mentor and project OR ready to try something new? The APPRENTICE is your pathway!

  • First- and second-year Capstone Scholars AND Capstone Fellows, in good standing
  • For projects in collaboration with a mentor (The Office of Undergraduate Research can help you find a mentor!)
  • All majors; funds research, scholarly, and creative projects
  • Up to $1,000 per recipient for salary, materials, and travel

Announce Date: December 3, 2021
Grant Duration: December 2021 through December 2022

Grant Duration: April 2022 through May 2023
