The Molinaroli family’s history in South Carolina and contribution the gamecock legacy, dating back to the 1930s makes their ties to the university close and impactful. 1983 alumnus Alex Molinaroli, and his wife Kristin Ihle Molinaroli, have invested $30 million into the College of Engineering and Computing, making a huge impact on the opportunities that the college has to expand the powers of research in the Palmetto State. The college now bears the Molinaroli family name in honor of this incredible contribution to research and development.

Read more about this generous donation and major USC milestone.

Decorative text-based image with a garnet background, and white text that reads as follows: This major investment in the College of Engineering and Computing comes at a pivotal time for the University of South Carolina research enterprise. The Molinaroli family’s generosity will act as fuel to supercharge research momentum already building in the college through the SC Nexus Tech Hub and faculty research strengths in battery technology, advanced materials manufacturing, semiconductor chips and more. We are grateful for this opportunity to expand our research and innovation impact in the Palmetto State and beyond. — Julius Fridriksson, Vice President for Research
