Apply for assistance with a digital humanities or computational research project

The Humanities Collaborative at USC will sponsor a working group committed to the digital humanities that could provide technical support for your project in the coming academic year. The working group aims to support USC Columbia faculty and graduate students with curiosity, interests, plans or projects related to computational work in the social sciences and humanities. If you have a digital humanities project or even an idea that needs technical support during the next academic year, please complete this brief survey to let the the Humanities Collaborative know. Contact Kate Boyd (boydkf@mailbox.sc.edu) with any questions regarding the group.

Take the Better-Internet Survey to help improve internet access across South Carolina

We are proud to partner with GetConnectedSC to help bring reliable, high-speed internet to all South Carolinians. The Better-Internet Survey is designed to pinpoint internet access availability, barriers to use and other concerns around internet use, down to a specific household level. The five-minute survey will help direct where and when improvements are made, ensuring that we can provide quality internet to all communities in the state. A Spanish version of the survey is also available here. Your participation is greatly appreciated and will help us create a more connected and equitable South Carolina.

New Research Email Lists

The Office of the Vice President for Research invites you to join our new subject-specific email lists for updates on research-related funding opportunities. There will be mailing lists for the following subjects: health sciences, STEM, social sciences and arts and humanities. Through these lists, we will share important research information, including funding opportunity updates and more from our partner, the Lewis-Burke Associates. Though it will vary by list, subscribers can expect regular, and at times frequent, emails. Click here to sign up for the new email lists.

New service seeking volunteers to support research

The Office of the Vice President for Research encourages anyone who is interested to sign up as a volunteer on ResearchMatch. ResearchMatch brings together people who are trying to find research studies and researchers who are looking for people to participate in their health-related studies. The program makes it easy for researchers to connect with volunteers and further their research projects. Anyone can register with ResearchMatch, including healthy volunteers, and signing up is easy! Visit the ResearchMatch website for more information and to register.
