This form below has been created for campuses, colleges and schools to easily submit information for all major upcoming faculty reviews, including tenure and promotion, third-year review and post-tenure review for tenure-track faculty, as well as promotions for professional-track faculty.
Professional-track faculty promotion candidates are reported only for the Columbia campus. For tenure-track faculty in Columbia, please note that there are two tenure and promotion cycles in the academic year, a fall cycle and a spring cycle. The cycle names reference the deadlines for candidate file submission and unit voting; thus, fall cycle files are due in August, and unit voting occurs in September, while spring cycle files are due in January, with unit voting occurring in February. Consult the Tenure Clock Guide to identify the correct cycle for submission or to view tenure and promotion calendars.

Submit Candidate Names
Candidate names are submitted only by the dean’s office at the link above. Within academic units, report candidate names through administrative channels to the dean’s office to avoid duplicate submissions here, please.
Academic units are required to submit candidate names for upcoming promotion actions. Fall cycle tenure and promotion candidate names are due May 5; spring cycle candidate names are due October 20. Professional-track faculty candidate names should be reported each year by November 5. If a candidate withdraws after their name has been reported, please email notify the provost’s office by email at provacaf@mailbox.sc.edu.
Units are not required to submit faculty names in advance for hires with tenure or appointments at the professional-track faculty professor ranks; please submit completed files only at the appropriate submission portal, and do not submit those names here.
