The annual Staff Excellence Awards is a special time to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of our colleagues and team members who go above and beyond to make a lasting impact on the Gamecock community. Your nominations help shine a light on those who make a difference every day. Let's come together to celebrate the achievements and dedication of our colleagues.

Provide detailed examples of how the nominee has made a significant impact on the Gamecock community.

Awards Ceremony: The USC Staff Excellence Awards Ceremony will take place on May 19, where we will celebrate the winners and their remarkable contributions. This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and recognize the excellence within our staff. Winners will receive a one-time cash prize as a token of appreciation.

Timeline

Nomination period: April 1- April 16.

Nominee Eligibility

In good standing and working in a FTE, research grant or time-limited position at USC-Columbia, Palmetto College and Schools of Medicine in Columbia and Greenville for at least one year. (Temporary employees are not eligible)

Award Specific Eligibility (to be verified by Division of Human Resources):

Rising Star Award - nominee must have between one to five years of service
Legacy of Excellence Award - nominee must have over 15 years of service

Excellence in Customer Service Award	Description: The Excellence in Customer Service Award celebrates those who make a lasting impact by prioritizing the customer experience and delivering service that reflects the values and mission of the organization. Excellence in the Student Experience Award	Description: The Excellence in the Student Experience Award recognizes those who go above and beyond in shaping a positive, supportive, and impactful environment that helps students thrive both academically and personally. Criteria: Prioritize student well-being Foster engagement and connection Support academic success Enhance campus life Promote inclusivity
Excellence in Innovation Award	Description: The Excellence in Innovation Award celebrates those who push boundaries, envision new possibilities, and bring transformative ideas to life. Criteria: Champion transformative ideas Drive strategic change Inspire others to innovate Deliver tangible results Enhance reputation
Commitment to People Award	Description: The Commitment to People Award celebrates individuals who go above and beyond in their dedication to caring for, uplifting, and supporting others, contributing to a positive and empowering community. Criteria: Prioritize people’s needs Foster positive relationships Encourage personal and professional growth Exhibit inclusivity and respect Lead with compassion and integrity
Collegiality Excellence Award	Description: The Excellence in Collegiality Award celebrates those who make a meaningful difference by fostering a culture where everyone can thrive and contribute authentically. Criteria: Foster an inclusive environment Promote fairness Drive awareness and understanding Support unique voices Demonstrate tangible impact
Gamecock Spirit Award	Description: The Gamecock Spirit Award honors an individual who embody the values, enthusiasm, and pride associated with the University of South Carolina. Criteria: Demonstrate passion for the University Exemplify positive attitude Encourage campus engagement Support the USC community Be a role model for others
Excellence in Collaboration Award	Description: The Excellence in Collaboration Award celebrates the impactful work achieved through unity, trust, and a shared vision, highlighting the value of coming together to accomplish more. Criteria: Foster strong partnerships Promote open communication Leverage skills and talents Work toward shared goals Drive exceptional outcomes together
Rising Star Award	Description: The Rising Star Award celebrates a new professional who demonstrates exceptional promise and is poised for continued success and leadership within the organization. Nominee must have between one to five years of service. Criteria: Demonstrate outstanding potential Exhibit leadership qualities Contribute fresh ideas Show commitment to growth Make a positive impact
Legacy of Excellence Award	Description: The Legacy Award celebrates individuals whose influence and accomplishments will be felt for years to come, honoring their lasting contributions and exceptional service. Nominee must have over 15 years of service. Criteria: Demonstrate lifelong commitment Create lasting positive change Serve as a role model Influence organizational culture Leave a remarkable legacy
Excellence in Community Impact Award	Description: The Excellence in Community Impact Award celebrates those whose contributions to the broader community extend beyond their immediate roles, leaving a lasting and meaningful legacy of service and positive change.
