Students of all majors can join the USC chapter of this international organization which will enhance your knowledge of communications, broaden your network and help launch your PR career.

There is a membership fee to join PRSSA. Students may join in the fall or the spring. Chapter meetings are generally held every other Monday evening.

As a PRSSA member, you can use the PRSA Jobcenter and PRSSA Internship Center to find public relations employment opportunities all over the world. After you graduate, you can join PRSA at a greatly reduced rate, connecting you to more than 100 professional chapters, 14 professional interest sections, and resources especially for new professionals.

The Bateman Case Study Competition is the PRSSA’s premier national case study competition for public relations students. It provides an opportunity for students to apply lessons learned from both inside the classroom and through internships or work opportunities to create and implement a full public relations campaign for a real client. Every year PRSSA choses a brand or cause to sponsor the competition.

A two-semester experience and commitment with JOUR 531-001 in fall 2024 and JOUR 538 in spring 2025. Applicants do not have to be PRSSA members, but must be members in good standing by October 31 to participate on the spring competition team. Dues are $80.
