Register Now: TechInLaw Symposium and Propel AI event this Friday, October 4

The Office of the Vice President for Research and the Joseph F. Rice School of Law invite USC faculty, staff and students to register to attend the TechInLaw AI and Elections Symposium virtually via Zoom this Friday, October 4. The day-long symposium will feature a special keynote interview featuring Visiting Propel AI Expert Spencer Overton, the Patricia Roberts Harris Research Professor of Law at George Washington University. Overton’s keynote interview is offered as part of both the TechInLaw Symposium and the Propel AI program. USC faculty, staff and students can attend the symposium virtually for free by registering at the TechInLaw website.

 

Application Deadline Extended: Magellan Scholar undergraduate research grant program

Due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene, the Magellan Scholar application deadline has been extended for students across the USC System. The new application deadlines vary by campus, so please plan accordingly:

• Wednesday, October 16 by 5:00 p.m.: Columbia, Beaufort, Lancaster, Salkehatchie and Sumter campuses
• Wednesday, October 23 by 5:00 p.m.: Aiken, Upstate and Union campuses

For the Magellan Mini-Grant program, the original deadline of Tuesday, October 22, by 5:00 p.m., is unchanged; the same is true for several other undergraduate funding programs connected to Living-Learning Communities. Please email our@sc.edu with any questions.

 

Research funding available for USC graduate students: SPARC Graduate Research Grant applications due November 7, 2024

The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to announce and invite proposals for the SPARC graduate research grant program. SPARC grant applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7. Complete information about the application process, including all SPARC application materials, is available on the SPARC program page.

Sign up for Savannah River National Laboratory University Partnerships Day

National Laboratories presents the USC community with the first National Laboratory University Partnerships Day. STEM students and faculty researchers from the Southeast will have the opportunity to network with other university partners, researchers and leadership of the Savannah River National Laboratory and program managers from the Department of Energy.
