Join us tonight at 6:00 p.m. for Artificial Intelligence: Game Changer or Game Over?
We are so excited to invite the entire university community to join us tonight for Artificial Intelligence: Game Changer or Game Over?, a stimulating and timely panel discussion on the ethical and societal implications surrounding the use of artificial intelligence, sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research. This event, held tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the Darla Moore School of Business W.W. Hootie Johnson Hall, is free and open to the public with no registration required. Read on for complete event details.
What is Artificial Intelligence, Anyway?
At the upcoming event, Artificial Intelligence: Game Changer or Game Over?, a panel of diverse, deep-thinking UofSC faculty members from a wide variety of disciplines will discuss questions around the use of artificial intelligence. But, what is artificial intelligence, exactly? The term is used frequently in many different contexts, but it is rarely explained in a clear and comprehensive way.
Fortunately, we have Forest Agostinelli in the UofSC College of Engineering and Computing to help us gain a deeper and broader understanding of what artificial intelligence actually is, how it is used in daily life and the amazing potential it holds as a helpful collaborator for the advancement of humanity. Get Dr. Agostinelli’s take on all this, and learn more about his work at the USC Artificial Intelligence Institute, in UofSC’s video, “Ask the Expert: Artificial Intelligence with Forest Agostinelli.”
Meet the Panelists
The Office of the Vice President for Research has assembled a panel of outstanding faculty researchers representing a wide variety of disciplines from engineering to health sciences, business and law. Want to learn more? Read longer bios on each panelist on the event page.
