Dance Minor

Getting a minor in dance is a great way to continue your dance training while pursuing other areas of study.

The Dance Minor at the University of South Carolina provides students the opportunity to build their technical abilities, explore performance and choreography, and investigate the theory of dance practice. Through class offerings in a variety of techniques and academic areas, dance minors are able to shape their journey to fit their interests and schedule. All levels and backgrounds are welcome.

Acceptance into the program as a minor does not require an audition, however all dance minors must complete Level I ballet and contemporary coursework before requesting approval to enroll in Level II and III courses.

The Dance Minor requires 18 hours of study, including 6-9 hours of dance technique courses with at least 3 technique credits in 200-level or above.
