About USC Dance

The Dance Program, which is accredited nationally by the National Association of Schools of Dance, was founded by Professor Susan E. Anderson. Our performance companies are designed to challenge serious students with a variety of opportunities and regularly bring in well-known guest artists to stage major pieces or create work on our dancers.

Our undergraduate program combines a rigorous dance classroom and studio environment with the depth and breadth of an excellent liberal arts education. Get the latest program news and learn about our many graduates who have gone on to dance professionally, complete graduate work or work as dance teachers and administrators.

Our Facilites

The home of the Dance Program is a modern facility that includes three large studios that can expand into six studios when needed for additional rehearsal space. The building also houses the program's offices, classrooms and meeting spaces for students, faculty and guest artists.

Community Outreach

The university sponsors the USC Dance Conservatory, a community program that trains young dancers after school and provides our dance students with valuable teaching experience. We also host the SC Summer Dance Conservatory, a three-week intensive for pre-professional dancers age 11 and older.
