Student Choreography Showcase | December 4-7, 2018

Nine original works choreographed by undergraduate dance students will be premiered at Drayton Hall Theatre, December 4-7.

Visiting Scholar Lecture | Dr. Myron M. Beasley

Dr. Beasley will present on the topic of transdisciplinarity at McMaster College on November 1, 2018.

USC Dance Company Fall Concert | November 8-9, 2018

The USC Dance Company takes the Koger Center stage for a dynamic concert of mixed repertory. Featured will be George Balanchine's landmark ballet Serenade (staged by instructor and former NYC Ballet soloist Stacey Calvert), plus original choreography by Associate Professor Thaddeus Davis and Instructor Olivia Waldrop.

Professors Receive National Dance Project Grant

Associate Dance Professors Tanya Wideman-Davis and Thaddeus Davis have received a National Dance Project Grant for their new work, "Migratuse Ataraxia."

Five original works by UofSC Dance students will be in the spotlight on the Drayton Hall stage April 27-28.

Dance Professors, Students Tour Original Work

Tanya Wideman-Davis and Thaddeus Davis, the prolific dance duo, and AFAM Studies' newest faculty, recently took the original work "CANE" on the road to Duke University in Durham, NC and Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. Accompanying them -- three university dance students John Green, Maria Maccaroni and Petra Morgan.

USC Dance To Perform at the Kennedy Center

We were one of two universities selected at the Southeastern Regionals of the American College Dance Association to perform at the National Conference, June 6-9.

UofSC Dance Hosts Summer DanceAbility Intensive

Presented by DanceAbility International, the intensive teaches dance educators how to teach the DanceAbility® method of inclusive dance to students with a diverse range of physical and mental abilities. Founded in 1987, DanceAbility uses improvisational dance to promote artistic expressions and exploration between people with and without disabilities.
