SC Afterschool Alliance internships

An internship with the South Carolina Afterschool Alliance allows you to build mentoring skills while helping younger students excel in school.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many K-12 students in South Carolina to fall behind. The University of South Carolina partnered with the SC Afterschool Alliance to help them get back on track before the school year begins.

UofSC students will work with younger students throughout South Carolina in this internship program.

Interns can be students at the UofSC Columbia campus or Palmetto College campuses.

What interns will do

UofSC student interns will work as instructors or mentors in every county of South Carolina at sites like schools, parks and recreation centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCAs, and community-based organizations.

Summer interns will work for 60 hours during the summer of 2021. Opportunities will be available in Fall 2021 as well, and internships could lead to employment opportunities.
