Research

Nico's research focuses on the distribution of invertebrate larvae(mussels, barnacles, crabs, etc) in the nearshore and its potential applications for the management of coastal resources. Nico has also more recently been working on pelagic,
large-scale aggregations of zooplankton and their long term temporal trends. He is currently working in the calibration of the NASA thermal sensor ECOSTRESS on board the International Space Station and its potential applications in characterising thermal stress levels in coastal ecosystems with high spatial resolution over large areas.
