Research
We are interested in the genetic basis and ecological significance of natural variation in plant traits. We focus on a diverse radiation of wildflowers, the yellow monkeyflowers, that are an ecological genetic model system. We use field transplant and lab genetic mapping experiments to understand how plants adapt to different environments, how these adaptations contribute to the origin and maintenance of new species, and how these adaptations influence species distributions.
