The SEC Faculty Achievement Awards recognize faculty from SEC member universities with outstanding records in teaching, research and scholarship. There is one winner/nominee per campus and one overall winner for the Conference. The SEC has just announced that Dr. Jeffery Twiss, professor on our department, has won the 2022 Faculty Achievement Award for UofSC. Holder of the SmartState Endowed Chair in Childhood Neurotherapeutics, Dr. Twiss is internationally regarded as a leader in the field of molecular neurobiology. His work has notably led to major discoveries on mRNA transport and localized translation in axons. Congrats Jeff!
