Payton Ramsey receives a Steven N. Swanger Leadership Award!

The Steven N. Swanger Leadership Award is UofSC’s second-highest undergraduate honor and is named for a former president of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), which co-sponsors University Awards Day. It is given to a graduating senior for exemplary leadership and for making significant contributions to the Carolina community. 

Payton Ramsey is an Honors College undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Biological Sciences. She is also a Fulbright Scholar and will be pursuing her Fulbright research award to work towards a Master’s in Public Health at Cardiff University in Wales. Her research will focus on forced-migrants and refugee health at Cardiff University’s public health research center of excellence, DECIPHer, which focuses on developing multi-level system approaches and interventions to improve the health of children and young people. Payton will be returning to the US after competing her research to begin working on her medical degree. Congrats Peyton!
