Julian García Walther writes in The Conversation about his research on bird migration

Julián García Walther, a Ph.D. student in the lab of Dr. Nathan Senner, writes in The Conversation about his research on how climate change is influencing the development and survival of the little-known shorebird Calidris canutus roselaari, the rarest of all Red Knot subspecies. In winter, more than 1 million shorebirds that breed in the Arctic will visit and move throughout the coastline of northwest Mexico. Climate change is causing the Arctic to warm faster than any other region of the planet, and Julian investigates how these changes are influencing the development and survival of young knots. Discover here how Julian attaches tiny radio transmitters to these birds and uses a network of stations to track them!
