Plants are constantly challenged by diverse pathogenic microbes in their environment and have thus evolved sophisticated strategies to coordinate their growth and defense. In their new study titled "The BZR1-EDS1 module regulates plant growth-defense coordination", the lab of Dr. Zhengqing Fu and collaborators describe a novel molecular module comprised of the transcription factor BZR1 and the immunity regulator EDS1 that regulates plant growth and defense in both compatible and incompatible infections. An impressive work!
