General Information

The B.S. in Neuroscience was developed to bring together the multiple scientific disciplines across campus that focus on the nervous system. This program offers students the ability to get a strong background in basic science alongside specialization within a specific concentration area and extensive opportunities for hands-on research experience. In particular, the B.S. in Neuroscience was designed to provide the necessary background for entry into graduate programs in Neuroscience as well as facilitate completion of Pre-Med requirements for entry into Medical School.

All majors select a concentration area to specialize in:

• Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience (CMN)
• Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience (CBN)
• Neurodevelopment and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NND)

Additionally, majors can apply to the B.S. with Distinction in Neuroscience to complete additional research culminating in a senior thesis. SCHC students can use their honors thesis to fulfill this thesis requirement as well.
