What to Expect
All Carolina Experience workshops are facilitated by student or professional staff in the office. Workshops are offered by audience type- is the audience student facing or faculty/staff facing?
Please submit presentation requests a minimum of THREE weeks before you want them to occur.
We will contact you within 1 week of your request. The requester is responsible for providing the meeting space for the workshop and making sure there is projector and hookup. Carolina Experience staff will attend with their own laptop.
Presentations Offered:
What is the Carolina Experience?
This session is a general overview of the Carolina Experience office, services that
are offered, and how students can get connected. Workshop lasts 35-45 minutes.
Exploring the My USC Record
This workshop gives a general overview to students of the My USC Record offered by
USC. Students WILL need their own laptop to access and explore their own personal
record. Workshop lasts 50-60 minutes.
Preparing for Sophomore Year Success
This workshop is designed for students in the late spring of their first-year or early
fall of their second year. We will go over tips ands tricks for success as a sophomore
at USC. Workshop lasts 50-60 minutes.
How to Succeed as a Transfer Student at USC
This workshop is for students who have recently transferred to USC from another 2-
or 4-year institution. We will go over key information to be successful as a new transfer
student to USC and how to get connected on campus. Workshop last 40-50 minutes.
What is the Carolina Experience?
This workshop is a general overview of our office, services that we offer, broad overview
of populations served, and discussion time for potential partnerships. Workshop lasts
for 60 minutes.
Supporting Sophomore students at USC
This session will dive into the second-year experience at USC, explore the USC data
on the population, and provide faculty and staff with ideas on how to support students
as they more through their second year. The workshop lasts for 60 minutes.
Supporting Transfer Students at USC
This workshop will explore the transfer students experience at USC. We will cover
USC specific data on the transfer population, provide an overview of the support offered,
and provide faculty and staff with ideas on how to support students as they experience
USC as a new transfer student. The workshop lasts for 60 minutes.
Supporting Junior and Senior Students at USC
This session will dive into the third-and-fourth year experiences at USC, explores
the USC data on the populations, and provides faculty and staff with ideas on how
to support students as they more through their last two years at USC. The workshop
lasts for 60 minutes.
