USC Student Traditions

Through a collaborative membership of faculty, staff, and students, the USC Committee on Traditions explores current offerings of traditions on the USC Columbia campus and generates recommendations for refreshed and additional milestone moments. One of our goals is to understand the collective campus traditions offerings and to help bring awareness of these experiences that can be communicated across a variety of campus stakeholders.

Action Plan

  1. Develop a campus definition for USC traditions, including identifying various categories of experiences to help organize how traditions are recognized.
  2. Complete an audit of existing traditions on the USC campus, including the timing, intended student population and purpose.
  3. Generate recommendations for USC traditions to be maintained, refreshed or created.
