A Traveler’s Pilgrimage to Italy

Feeding the soul through the five senses in Rome and Assisi

This Maymester experience (one week on campus, two weeks in Italy) will take students on an inspirational journey into the heart of Italy to explore, document the people and sights and write about a culture that has captivated people for thousands of years. In Rome, we will get an inside look at the Vatican. Next, we hope to travel by train to Assisi as we travel back to the middle ages to see the Basilica of St. Francis.

With the soul fed, we turn to fashion, ancient architecture and glories of Italian food, spending an evening making pasta and a day traveling to Ostia Antica, an ancient archaeological site.
